Angelita Peterson is an emerging self-taught visual artist who is currently
studying with the Open College of the Arts to further her aptitude in the
creative arts. Life is a catalyst for her creative process.
She works with a
variety of mediums as she is presently experimenting. Her favourite medium,
however, is watercolour because of its spontaneity.
Almost anything can be a catalyst for her inspiration to create artwork -
from the sound of music to an emotion and distant memories of her travels to
far-away places, such as Singapore.
Her favourite styles of art are surrealism, abstract expressionism and
visionary art. She uses the juxtaposition of objects to achieve balance in
her compositions as well as the use of complementary brilliant colours to
achieve aesthetically appealing works of art.
Her latest artistic efforts include her commission to design the t-shirts
worn by the bartenders of the Saba's Summer Festival 2009 Carnival Troupe,
"Sea, Land and Sun."
