The playground section of the H.L.Johnson Museum grounds in Windwardside has been recently upgraded with a brand-new piece of playground equipment, donated by the Saba University School of Medicine. On request of the board of the H.L. Johnson Museum, Dr. David L. Frederick President of the Saba University, gladly complied with the request to donate the new playground equipment.
The Island Government of Saba was asked to assist with the erection of the new equipment and Russell Thielman assisted by the carpenters of the Public Works department, among others, Karel Sorton, Phillip Johnson and Neville Marten, built a wooden deck where the equipment was placed.
The board of the H.L. Johnson Museum and the people of Saba in general would hereby like to thank the Saba University and staff for their very kind donation to the children of the island.
At this time we would also like to remind the users of the playground equipment to treat it with care. The swings and slides are built to take no more than the weight of an 80- pound individual, we're therefore kindly asking the larger kids to refrain from using them. The playground is situated in a residential area, with in particular older persons living in the vicinity, we therefore ask you to please keep the noise level at a minimum.
Persons wishing to celebrate birthday parties and the like on the Museum Grounds are kindly asked to request permission from a member of the board or from the museum caretaker Mrs. Sherry Peterson. A small fee will be asked to help assist with the upkeep of the property.
The Museum and its property are for the use and enjoyment of all, please help us to keep it clean by placing your garbage in the bins provided.
