Chairman of the Island Council of the Island Territory of Saba. Lt. Governor Sydney
Sorton in a public notice issued on June 21st 2007 has invited the general public of
Saba to attend a public meeting of the Island Council of Saba for Wednesday, June
27th 2007 at 9.00 a.m.
The meeting will be held at the Government Administration Building in The Bottom in
the Courtroom. The agenda for the meeting is as follows: 1.Opening, 2.Approval of
the credentials of the newly elected members of the Island council, 3.Approval of
the draft budget for 2008, 4.Approval of the Year Reports from 1998 to 2005,
5.Approval of the draft "Retribution Ordinance 2007 6.Closing.
As this will be the final public meeting of the present Island Council in its
present constellation it is expected that the departing members of the Island
Council will also take the opportunity to bid farewell to the people of Saba. Those
members of the Island Council of Saba that will not be returning are Island Council
members Will Johnson, Lisa Hassell, Steve Hassell and Lucia Woods. The only member
that will be returning on July 2nd 2007 is Mr. Rolando Wilson.
The credentials of the new elected members to the Island Council that will be dealt
with are Mr. Christopher Johnson, Mr. Bruce Zagers, Mr. Carl Buncamper, Mr. Rolando
Wilson and Ms. Akilah Levenstone.
