The Supervisory Board of Directors of AMFO visited the island of Saba on Wednesday
and held discussions with Saba's Lt. Governor Mr. Sydney Sorton at the Government
Administration Building.
the purpose of the visit to the island was to introduce the supervisory board of
directors which is being headed by Sybilla Dekker as chairman of the supervisory
Board of directors and Marva Richardson as the treasurer of the board and the
General Director of the AMFO Stanley Betrian. Also traveling along with the
supervisory board were Raquel Weisz and Roxanne de Leeuw as policy assistants and
Hendrickje Stoffels as Senior Project Assistant.
The visit was also for them to inform the Lt. Governor of the functioning of AMFO
and how the funding agency can assist the many NGO's on the island with funding for
their projects.
AMFO has supported many projects on the island in the past and will continue to
support many more projects once the projects is submitted and meets the requirements
of the funding agency. Lt. Governor Sorton said that the meeting with the delegation
was very informative and he would like to encourage all NGO's on the island to apply
for funding to the funding agency in order for them to carry out their community
projects on the island.
The delegation also held discussions with the board of the AIDS Support Group Saba
and that entity has received partial approval of their request to the tune of some
Fls. 54.000,00. The delegation also visited the Child Focus Building and held
discussions with them also.
