A large group of Dutch travel agents spent a day on Saba this week getting
acquainted with the island's geography, its hotels and restaurants, and local
tourist offerings. Account Manager with Holland International (TUI Nederland NV),
Johan Janssens, organised the trip for the 24 agents who are spending a week in the
Netherlands Antilles.
All members of the group were on Saba for the first time.
They arrived via the Edge, and visited the hotel properties that the group has
targeted, the Ecolodge, Juliana's, and Queen's Gardens. The large group split up to
have lunch at Tropic's Café and Scout's Place. Janssens said that the two dozen
agents are placed all over the Netherlands, from north to south.
Their weeklong trip
was sponsored in part by Arkefly Airline and the agents spent half their time in
the Windward Islands and the rest in Curaçao. The packages that the agents will put
together for their clients are totally customised to any length of stay that they
wish.
