July 4, 2008

bron Saba News Agency

The Executive Council of Saba, the Saba Civil Servants Social Association and the Saba Nurses Foundation will be all remembering the late Norman C. Windfield on Monday, July 7th 2008 in a very special way. The Executive Council together with the Saba Civil Servants Social Association will be reminiscing by naming the parking lot adjacent to the A.M. Edward's Medical Center in The Bottom on Monday morning at 11.00 a.m. in his honor.

The Saba Nurses Foundation on Monday afternoon will be paying special tribute to Mr. Windfield by the laying of a wreath at his grave site at 5.30 p.m. followed by a mass of thanksgiving at the Anglican Church in The Bottom at 6.00 p.m. following the church service the members of the foundation will be erecting a plaque on the wall at the A.M. Edward's Medical Center.

The late Norman C. Windfield passed away last year on July 7th 2007 at the A.M. Edward's Medical Center in the line of duty from a massive heartache. He also served as one of the islands ambulance drivers for many years. Mr. Windfield served as a civil servant for many years and the board of the Saba Civil Servants Social Association felt that seeing that he died in the line of duties it was time to have something named in his honor on the island and they are grateful that the Executive Council has agreed to have the parking lot named after him for his dedication to the island and its people. The general public of Saba is cordially invited to attend the naming of the parking lot ceremony and the wreath laying and mass on Monday. Let us gave thanks to God for his life.
