Saba's Director of Tourism Mr. Glenn Holm left Saba on Monday morning for San Juan, Puerto Rico where he will be attending the 9th annual American Airlines Caribbean Travel Exchange from May 9th to 11th.

Mr. Holm told the SGIS that this exclusive American Airlines business development event is one of the most effective and efficient promotion activities of the year. Thee will be three events going on at the same time Mr. Holm said. Suppliers will meet Tour Operator Buyers from worldwide American Airlines markets during a 15 minute pre-scheduled appointments. the supplier-Tour Operator business sessions will be held Tuesday afternoon from 2.00 p.m. until 6.00 p.m. the second event will be where 350 carefully qualified Travel Agents almost all of them from the USA, attend destination seminars, "How to sell" workshops, and the travel Exposition. Suppliers feel these Travel Agents are professional, dedicated, and that they work hard during the event. the final event will be where Tour Operators, Travel Agents and suppliers get together at a Wednesday morning's TrAAvel Exposition in a strictly business format featuring pre-scheduled presentations. this format helps suppliers show and tell their products and services in a professional environment.

Mr. Holm said that the Island Government of Saba has sponsored his trip to attend the exchange and he is looking forward in representing Saba's interest at the American Airlines Caribbean TrAAvel Exchange.

Before returning to the island Mr. Holm will be also attending the St. Maarten/St. Martin Annual Regional Tradeshow which starts on St. Maarten on May 12th until the 14th. Mr. Holm will be accompanied by Ms. Desiree Johnson of the Tourism Department.

This is the 4th St. Maarten/St. Martin Annual Regional Tradeshow which is sponsored by the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association and Association des Hoteliers de St. Martin.
