What is Rum and Lobster Fest?

Rum and Lobster Fest is a 9-day festival from November 1st until November 9th (2025) on the island of Saba during which visitors and locals can experience the unique flavors of Saba: the spiny lobster and Unspoiled Queen Liqueur rums. A must-visit for foodies!

About Saba

Saba, the stunning Dutch Caribbean Island known as "The Unspoiled Queen," is a hidden gem full of unexpected experiences, making it the ideal spot for an unforgettable adventure. With its warm Caribbean hospitality, authentic charm, and abundance of outdoor activities, now is the perfect time to plan and discover Saba.

Saba

Located just 12 minutes by air or a scenic 90-minute ferry ride from St. Maarten, the island offers world-class diving, incredible hiking, and a rich cultural scene. It soars 5,000 feet from the seafloor of which 3,000 feet are visible. With a population of just over 1,800, Saba is comprised of four main villages - The Bottom (Saba's capital), Windwardside, St. John's, and Zion's Hill (a.k.a. "Hell's Gate").

How to get to Saba?

Travelers can fly to Saba from St. Maarten in less than 12 minutes with Winair or enjoy a scenic 90 - minute ferry ride via the Edge or Makana Ferry. The Makana Ferry also offers service from St. Eustatius and St. Kitts.

Winair

Winair offers flights daily to Saba. Visitors also have the option of doing a day trip with the airline. They can travel over to Saba on the first flight of the day (around 7:00 AM) and return to St. Maarten on the last flight (around 5:00 PM).

Winair also has a Day Trip Special for passengers traveling from St Maarten to Saba.

The Edge Ferry

The Edge offers trips to Saba twice per week, on Tuesdays, and Fridays. Passengers have the option of booking various types of day trip packages. Join the lunch & taxi tour package with a taxi tour around the island, with time for sightseeing, shopping in the town of Windwardside and a lunch at Tropics café that is included in the total cost.

Hikers can choose the option of a Solo Hiking package which includes a taxi transfer to the hiking trails and a boxed lunch. Choose any of these packages from the addons during the booking process for the ferry.

Makana Ferry

Travel between Saba, Statia, St. Maarten, and St. Kitts onboard the Makana Ferry. Trips between Saba and St. Maarten are conducted 4 days a week. Departs from Bobby’s Marina in St. Maarten.

Tickets can be bought through the agent on Saba called Saba C Transport or via the Makana website.
